Char is our best packraft with the best design and the best materials. This has proven to be a very safe choice for several years. Now we've made it even better! This new model uses 1000 denier Kevlar in the floor and 420 denier nylon 66 in the tubes. This is the most solid packraft we have ever made! The Char models are the same ones that Lars Monsen also sells in his stores under the name Karasjohka Ultra Light. He has therefore chosen the best packraft!
Char 265 is suitable for people up to 200 cm.

For those of you on the fence about buying this, go for it. I switched from the Char to this one this year and haven't regretted it for a second. I have more than a handful of scratches on the Char model, but on this new one, which has seen a lot of use, there isn't a scratch.
This one can really take a beating. I can also mention that this one is a bit stiffer when getting on and off.,
Something that makes it significantly easier with a large backpack.

Thank you very much! I agree with you. It can withstand an extreme amount due to the Kevlar bottom. The tubes are also made of reinforced TPU material, so one would have to work hard to destroy this one 🙂

I've just ordered this. I already have a Char 265, Lars Monsen edition – and I'm extremely satisfied with it. I suspect this one will be just as good, if not even better. Looking forward to spring and summer 2024. And now that I have 2 packrafts, I can bring my wife, daughter, or a friend along on packrafting trips 🙂

The Char 265 Kevlar is my first packraft, and I'm absolutely delighted with it. It's incredibly easy to get ready, even for a beginner. The first impression is that it's sturdy and made of quality materials.
The choice fell on the 265, as I am a larger and heavier person. I am 183cm and weigh 135kg plus clothes, vest, and paddle. The packraft can handle my weight + gear without a problem, and is very stable. The packraft takes a bit of a beating when getting in and out, as heavy feet press the bottom material down against rocks and similar, but it handles this excellently!
I inflate my packraft with the Flextail Max Boat Pump. It inflates it to 100%, and stops on its own when it reaches 1 PSI. It might be a bit bigger than the others, but it's worth it. It inflates my packraft, seat, and sleeping pad multiple times before the battery is depleted.
When packed, the Char 265 Kevlar seems to be a bit larger than other packrafts, without me having directly compared it. Nevertheless, it's a manageable size, but it will probably affect luggage space on long trips. I still think it's worth it. I've managed to pack everything into a 90L bag, including a vest, pump, clothes, food and drink, fishing gear, etc.
There are many packraft suppliers out there, but the choice fell on Kipara because they have a good reputation, win tests, and I have several friends with Kiparas. You pay for well-developed products, with carefully selected materials. With others, you also pay for fancy online stores and big, nice premises – Kipara has focused all its attention on good packrafts, and you get what you pay for.
